Canada Day Celebration!

There is a lot going on this year! Our great nation had its 150th birthday on the 1st of July and the Nanaimo Group of Artists had their 70th anniversary. To join in mutual celebration the city of Nanaimo was kind enough to invite us to set up an interactive booth downtown at Maffeo Sutton Park during the Canada Day festivities. People of all ages came by and contributed their own unique artistic flare in the form of painted maple leaves on a canvas in the shape of the Canadian flag. Those leaves came together to create a cohesive and beautiful whole much like the citizens that make up our wonderful country.

The Lantzville Art Gallery has kindly offered to hang our Canada Day painting at 7217 Lantzville Rd #2. It will be there July 12 to July 19 (FOR ONE WEEK ONLY) and the gallery is CLOSED Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Hours at the gallery are 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please feel free to come down and support our group.
